A FIVE-year-old girl was rescued alive from the ruins of a building in Malatya, Turkey, on Monday, February 6, after a powerful earthquake and aftershocks caused widespread devastation to multiple Turkish provinces and neighbouring Syria.
Footage released by Turkish humanitarian organisation IHH shows the girl being brought out from underneath rubble. The group said the girl, identified as Merve, was a twin but her sibling did not make it out.
