Trump campaign lawyer Rudy Giuliani gets COVID-19

RUDY Giuliani has said he is "feeling good" after testing positive and being admitted to hospital with coronavirus.

The diagnosis sparked fears he could have infected dozens while travelling round the country this week trying to overturn the result of the presidential election.

Giuliani, 76, was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC on Sunday.

He had reportedly begun experiencing symptoms of the virus when he was admitted.

Tweeting late on Sunday, he wrote: "Thank you to all my friends and followers for all the prayers and kind wishes.

"I’m getting great care and feeling good. Recovering quickly and keeping up with everything."

President Trump also tweeted his support, writing: "Get better soon Rudy, we will carry on!!!"

He also said that Giuliani had been "working tirelessly exposing the most corrupt election (by far!) in the history of the USA".

It is not clear when Giuliani was diagnosed, but he has spent the last week travelling to a number of states to oversee legal action over unfounded claims of voter fraud in November's presidential election.

On Monday last week, he was in Arizona and met indoors with 15 members of the state legislature.

On Wednesday, he appeared unmasked at a legislative hearing in Michigan, and on Thursday did the same in Georgia.

He also appeared on Fox News to discuss the legal battles early on Sunday.

Pictures from Georgia showed Giuliani during breaks in the hearing standing close to and posing for pictures with numerous people while not wearing a mask.
