MP stopped from speaking, 'you sound like a Dalek'
An MP was stopped from speaking the House of Commons because a glitch made him sound "like a Dalek".
Conservative Scott Mann was speaking via video link in a debate on dentistry services during the pandemic on Thursday.
But a technical problem meant his audio became distorted, leaving his voice sounding hilariously robotic.
Deputy Speaker Nigel Evans told him: "Scott, you sound like a Dalek and I don't mean that unkindly. There's clearly a communications problem."
The Commons irrupted in laugher as their colleague was likened to one of Dr Who's arch-enemies.
While MP Mann, who represents North Cornwall, was left to fix his video link's sound error.
