Junior doctors have welcomed talks with the government after the Health Secretary agreed to meet and discuss pay.
Doctor Vivek Trivedi, co-chair of the BMA's junior doctors committee, said they were "hopeful" and would come to the talks "openly and with good faith" and would like Steve Barclay to do the same.
Dr Trivedi said it was positive other unions have reached a deal but said a 5% pay rise and lump sum payment would not be acceptable to his members.
