El Salvador President Bukele Meets China President Xi During First Official Visit.

El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele met with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the outset of his first official visit to China, Tuesday, December 3.

After an official welcoming ceremony, the two leaders held talks and witnessed the signing of agreements covering agriculture, trade, culture and tourism.

The visit comes after El Salvador decided to break ties with Taiwan and shift its diplomatic focus to mainland China last year.

China is now the second largest exporter to El Salvador. El Salvador has bolstered its exports to China as well, specifically with coffee. (AP)
