Bolivian Herons Fly Home After Fire Ravaged Habitat.

A group of 12 herons were released into the wild, Jan. 13, 2022, in Cochabamba, Bolivia, after wildfires consumed their habitat last year.

Local environment authorities reported that 15 herons were rescued in late October 2021 after a wildfire ravaged the Alalay Lake area.

The birds were treated by Cochabamba's Ministry of Environment and veterinarians from the Higher University of San Simon.
