AT LEAST three people have been killed, as two schools destroyed by Russian shelling in Chernihiv, Ukraine.
The footage showed smoke rising from the unnamed boarding schools in Novgorod-Seversky, which were left with shattered windows and collapsed walls.
Charred vehicles, trees and debris littered the school grounds in the footage posted to the emergency service’s Facebook page.
In a caption accompanying the footage, the service said 3 people were killed and 12 were left wounded in the shelling which took place at 00:20 (21:20 GMT) on Thursday.
A fire resulting from the shelling “destroyed structural elements in a 280 square-metre area” causing extensive damage to the schools, according to the social media post.
