Taiwan Holds Military Drill Amidst Heightened Tensions With China.

Taiwan’s army gave a demonstration of its defense capabilities through military drills, Wednesday, January 15, as tensions increase with mainland China.

The military exercise was intended to show Taiwan’s readiness for defending against an attack on a military emplacement.

The simulation depicted 30 enemy special forces troops attempting to launch an attack.

Taiwan’s army responds to the attack with tanks, armored vehicles and a group of armed troops.

Tensions have arisen between Taiwan and China after Taiwan’s presidential and legislative elections last week. Pro-independence President Tsai Ing-wen was reelected by a landslide. (AP)
