CCTV appears to show murder suspect Ali Harbi Ali hours before Conservative MP Sir David Amess was stabbed to death.
The 25-year-old was seen walking slowly with a backpack across his right shoulder and his left hand in his pocket near his North London home on Friday morning.
He is thought to have been walking to Gospel Oak train station when he was filmed from outside a convenience store on Highgate Road at 8.44am.
In the first moving footage of the murder suspect obtained by Sky News, he is seen leisurely walking down the street dressed in black trousers and a green parka-style coat.
Just over hours later, he was arrested for the murder of the Conservative MP and father-of-five, Sir David.
Police are investigating Ali’s movements in the hours leading up to the attack and are probing whether he boarded a train at the nearby station to travel to Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.
The shop manager who captured the footage said cops had asked to see the CCTV on Saturday morning before he handed over a copy of the video.
He said they specifically wanted to watch between a timeframe of 08.30am and 9am.
