The Tulsa race massacre was one of the worst examples of racial violence in US history. It's been 100 years since the Tulsa massacre. A white mob attacked a prosperous Black district in Oklahoma. White supremacists burnt and looted businesses and homes in Greenwood, which was then known as Black Wall Street. The district was reduced to ashes. At least 300 people were killed. More than 10,000 Black residents were left homeless.
People in Tulsa are now commemorating the victims of the attack. Residents are still reckoning with a violent history. The city itself remains divided.
