Security footage published on May 12 by Ukraine’s public broadcaster, Suspilne, shows the moment a Russian missile struck the Riviera shopping center in the port city of Odesa on the evening of May 9.
One person was killed in the strike and several were wounded, according to Odesa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov. It was one of seven missiles fired at Odesa that day.
According to Suspilne, nearly 100 apartments in a building close to the shopping center were destroyed by the strike.
Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the press office for the Security and Defense Forces of the South, said Russian forces had fired Soviet-era missiles.
Oleksiy Arestovych, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, said the missiles were Kh-22 long-range anti-ship missiles first used by the Soviet Union in the 1960s.
