Protests Against Peru’s President Turn Violent #shorts.

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Peru's capital Sunday to protest against the government of President Pedro Castillo.

MORE: At one point, police in anti-riot gear set barricades to block off streets surrounding the Government Palace to prevent marchers from advancing.

When protesters attempted to remove barriers, they were met with tear gas.

The demonstration is taking place a day ahead of the Organization of American States (OAS) beginning meetings with Congress and other bodies, at the request of President Castillo.
