Businesses call for introduction of gas price cap

Business leaders have called for the price cap that protects households from sharp rises in gas prices to be extended to companies that employ fewer than 250 people.

Industry leaders have warned that some factories could be forced to stop production because of soaring energy costs.

Producers of steel, ceramics, chemicals and paper have all been engaged in crisis talks with the government.
