US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has cancelled a planned trip to China after a Chinese spy balloon was tracked travelling over the US.
Mr Blinkin had been due to visit China next week – the first visit by a high-level US official in several years – to discuss Taiwan and other security issues.
China insists that the craft, which was tracked travelling over sensitive military areas, was a weather balloon, a claim rejected by the US.
