Video filmed by Instagram user @g.impress.l.a, a jeweler who works in the area, shows at least one person using a bicycle to damage a white pickup truck on Hill Street. The truck’s windscreen is already smashed in when the video begins.
Multiple people are seen beating the man, identified in local reports as the driver of the truck. People can be heard shouting, “Stop” and “Enough” during the attack. The footage shows the man entering the truck before several individuals open the doors and strike him again. Both parties then leave the scene.
In a tweet on May 20, the LAPD’s Central Division said it was aware of the footage but, “To date, no one has reported this incident to the police.” Police urged the victims to come forward.
