ICC President: Alleged child abduction was reason for arrest Putin's warrant.

The President of the International Criminal Court (ICC) says the court has charged the Russian president for the alleged war crime of "the deportation of children from parts of Ukraine that are occupied by Russia".

It is forbidden by international law for an occupying power to transfer civilians from the territory they live in to other areas he explained, adding that children have special protection under the Geneva convention.

But while the court has now issued the warrants, the execution and further enforcement would require international cooperation, he added.
