U.S., Ukraine can be proud of achievements this year in security - Kvien

The United States and Ukraine can be proud of their achievements this year in the areas of security, prosperity, reform and health for the well-being of citizens.

According to Ukrinform, Kristina Kvien, Charge d'Affaires at the United States Embassy in Ukraine, said this in a New Year's video greeting posted on Twitter.

She noted that 2021 brought a new U.S. administration led by President Joseph Biden. "Over the last 12 months, President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have led the way as we deepened the U.S.-Ukraine relationship and renewed our strategic partnership," Kvien said.

"The United States continues to stand with Ukraine in the face of threats to its sovereignty and territorial integrity. All of us can be proud of our achievements this year in the areas of security, prosperity, reform and health to the ultimate benefit of our citizens," she said.

Kvien also noted that "we have all battled the scourge of COVID-19 and we continue to work together to defeat it."
