On the evening of January 22, Jerusalem police detained a man on suspicion of organizing an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin. Vesti news agency reports.

A man approached a police officer and asked if Vladimir Putin arrived at the Yad Vashem memorial complex. She replied that she had not arrived and asked why the man needed this information. He replied that he wanted to "remove him."

The man was immediately taken to the police station. On the morning of January 23, the court first extended the detainee’s stay in the department for another day, and then, at the request of the defense, he still allowed the man to be released immediately after Putin left.

As we reported, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky did not meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Israel. Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of Russia's head of the state said this.

The official added that the meeting did not take place because Zelensky canceled his participation in the World Forum of the Holocaust Victims where Putin was present.

He added that Putin came to Bethlehem to negotiate with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
