Zelensky also reminded that during the meeting in the Normandy Format in Paris on December 9, 2019, the sides agreed on a few positions toward OSCE SMM in Donbas to assist to achieve peace in this region. The issue is about round-the-clock work of the OSCE, mirror increase of the number of the observers in the territory controlled by Ukraine and in occupied territory and the access of the OSCE to the areas with no disengagement of forces.
“The 24/7 OSCE work throughout Donbas, including the monitoring at the Ukrainian-Russian border, is crucial. And it is imperative that conditions for the safety of observers are created there. This is an important humanitarian mission,” the President of Ukraine noted.
The OSCE Chairman, from his side, agreed that such format would help to get more reliable observation data. He also stated that the OSCE SMM should be extended.
Earlier, the OSCE reported 140 explosions in Donbas.
