Day in Donbas: Russian mercenaries land 18 attacks on Ukrainian positions.


On February 18, Russian militants delivered 18 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas. The enemy fired in Zolote, Orikhove, Novotoshkivske and Krymske, HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reports.

The enemy used heavy artillery, 120 and 82 mm mortars, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

An enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group attempted to storm the Ukrainian outposts near Orikhove.

Ukrainian forces returned fire in an adequate manner every time the enemy landed an attack.

One Ukrainian serviceman died in the fight, another five sustained wounds.

Earlier, Vadym Skibitsky, the representative of the Main Department of Intelligence of Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported that the current military potential of the Russian Federation near the border with Ukraine grew threefold.

"By the estimates of the Main Department of Intelligence of Ukraine's Defence Ministry, by 2022-2023, the assault groups of the Russian Federation will be able to deliver full-fledged strategic offensive actions against Ukraine without mobilization", reads the message.
