Ukraine continues to increase daily number of coronavirus tests – health minister.

Ukraine has conducted more than 63,700 coronavirus tests in the past day, including a record number of PCR tests.

Health Minister Maksym Stepanov stated this at a briefing on October 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"During the previous day, a total of 63,734 tests have been performed, including 36,201 PCR tests and 27,533 ELISA tests. The number of PCR tests was a record high. We continue to increase the number of PCR tests. We know and say that we have a problem with PCR testing in terms of queues that occur in some, especially large, cities of our country," said Stepanov.

At the same time, he has noted that since the start of the pandemic, the number of daily coronavirus tests has been growing.

As reported by Ukrinform, some 293,641 COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Ukraine as of October 17, including 6,410 new cases recorded during the previous day.
