Ukraine needs to accumulate at least 17 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas by the beginning of the new heating season.
This issue was discussed at a special meeting dedicated to Ukraine’s preparations for the heating season, according to the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko with the participation of Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko, CEO of Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) LLC Serhiy Makogon, representatives of National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities and gas supply companies participated in the meeting.
In particular, they discussed preparations of the gas sector for the autumn-winter period and Ukraine’s gas stocks, as well as measures to ensure continuous supply of natural gas to household consumers.
It was agreed that Ukraine needs to accumulate at least 17 bcm of natural gas by October 15, 2021 to meet the needs of household consumers and heat supply companies.
