Kyiv city has purchased almost 40,000 face shields for school teachers, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
"Together with the Kyiv Trade Union of Education Workers, the city has purchased almost 40,000 face shields for teachers. These means of protection are being delivered to educational institutions," Klitschko said at a briefing on September 23, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
According to the mayor, the city also purchased 13,000 more shields for district administrations of the capital.
"We are doing everything to ensure safe educational process, to protect children and teachers from the virus," Klitschko said.
The mayor has also added that 292 pupils and 152 teachers in Kyiv are currently sick with COVID-19.
