Chancellor Sajid Javid vows to turn on spending taps to fund pay rise for Brits and boost hospitals.

CHANCELLOR Sajid Javid will today vow to turn on the spending taps to splurge on hospitals, schools, pay police.

As he and shadow chancellor John McDonnell head up North to try and hoover up swing voters, the Chancellor is expected to announce a softening of Tory borrowing rules to he can spend more on what Brits want to see.

He will outline his plan to invest responsibly in public services without a reckless spending spree which would see taxes rise for hard working households.

He's expected to set out a new set of fiscal rules- but warn that Labour would "make the country sick and unhealthy again."

In a rousing speech in Manchester he will say: “Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell are like the anti-vaxxers of economic policy.

“Not only did they reject the treatment needed to heal our economy and get the deficit down by four-fifths.

"They now want to take every step imaginable to make the country sick and unhealthy again.”

He will warm that a Crobyn government would crash the economy by wasting 2020 having two referendums on EU membership and Scottish independence.

The uncertainty would be devastating for businesses, while the Chancellor instead pledges to prioritise education, technology, and infrastructure as the engines of growth.

“Our economy has confounded expectations. Nine consecutive years of economic growth. Rising wages. Record employment. We’ve seen 1,000 jobs created every single day…"

He will take a dig at the Labour leadership adding: “It’s easy to poke fun at Comrade Corbyn and his fantasy economics…

“But this is a close election and I am taking nothing for granted.

“There are serious consequences to these fantasy economics…

"Only the Conservatives understand that there is no such thing as Government money.”

Yesterday a fresh poll showed voters prefer Mr Javid to Mr McDonnell by 45 per cent to 24 per cent.

Ipsos MORI's Evening Standard poll found just six in ten Labour voters said they would pick their Treasury spokesman in a choice between the two.

Meanwhile hard-left firebrand Mr McDonnell will today vow to break up the Treasury and move some of it to the north if Labour seize power.

At a speech in Liverpool today, the shadow chancellor says the radical step would be part of Labour's sweeping plans to ram through an "irreversible shift in the balance of power and wealth."
