Ukraine expects to receive 2M doses of Moderna vaccine in July – Liashko.

The Ministry of Health expects that 2 million doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be delivered to Ukraine in July.

Minister of Health Viktor Liashko said this at a meeting with journalists on July 1, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We have agreed with the United States: they promise to deliver 2 million doses of Moderna vaccine to us in the near future under the COVAX Facility," Liashko noted.

He also said that the interchangeability of Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines will be studied. This issue was considered at a meeting of the National Technical Expert Group on Immunoprophylaxis.

As reported, Ukraine has already received 5,051,576 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from various manufacturers, including 1,913,316 doses of CoronaVac vaccine, 500,000 doses of AstraZeneca, and 500,760 doses of Pfizer at the expense of the state budget; as well as 1,072,800 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine and 1,064,700 doses of Pfizer vaccine as part of the global COVAX initiative.

Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, which started on February 24, 2,001,132 people have been vaccinated, of whom 766,483 people received two doses.
