A total of 152 children have been killed and 146 have been injured in Ukraine as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, according to data provided by the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
Today, for the first time at the state level, Ukraine honors the memory of children who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and marks International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression.
"According to the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission, over the entire period of the conflict in Ukraine, between April 14, 2014 and April 30, 2021, 152 children (102 boys and 50 girls) were killed and 146 children (120 boys and 26 girls) were injured. Unfortunately, these painful statistics do not fully reflect the scale of losses suffered by children during the ongoing armed conflict," the report says.
The impossibility of ensuring state control over the observance of human rights in the temporarily occupied territory does not allow assessing the scale of the problems faced by children on the other side of the contact line.
