Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said the government is not going to suspend public transport during lockdown.
"As for transport, it will work. Airlines, railways and urban transport are not planned to be suspended even during the lockdown. All scientific studies show transport is not the main source of the active spread of this pandemic," he said during a Q&A hour at the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, on November 4.
The work of public transport was as limited as much as possible during the spring lockdown, it should be recalled.
Lockdown in Ukraine: Recent developments
- On December 2, Shmyhal said his government would not extend the weekend quarantine.
- At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukraine's government, is working on the most balanced solution to the possible strengthening of quarantine curbs.
- Under the law, the government shall announce its decision at least seven days in advance.
- Today, November 4, Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said the ministry has no plans to propose that a full lockdown be introduced before the end of this year.
