Morawiecki: Poland could send its F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine only in coordination with NATO.

If a decision on sending F-16 fighters to Ukraine is approved, Poland will act in "full coordination" with its allies.

Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki said this at a press conference, answering a question about Poland’s possible transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

As the head of the Polish government noted, Warsaw coordinates all actions related to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities with NATO partners, in particular with the United States. In particular, this was the case with decisions on the transfer of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, or the creation of an international coalition on the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

"And just as it happened a few months ago with MiG-29 aircraft, any other aircraft assistance [to Ukraine] will be coordinated, implemented and, possibly, transferred together with other NATO member states. We will act in full coordination here," Morawiecki emphasized.

When asked to clarify how many jets Poland could transfer, the Prime Minister noted that he had already answered this question and could not add anything else.

As reported, Ukraine seeks to obtain modern fighters – F-16 or F-15 of the US Air Force or their European analogs, German Tornado or Swedish Gripen – to replace its Soviet-era aircraft.
