President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the issue of broadening the tank coalition, unblocking the transfer of qualitatively new types of weapons, and further Euro-Atlantic integration with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
“Discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg further consolidation of partners to support Ukraine, in particular broadening the tank coalition and unblocking qualitatively new types of weapons. We also talked about necessary steps towards further integration with NATO,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.
As reported, the decision to provide Ukraine with tanks was approved at the meeting of the German Government this morning.
Later, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on the sidelines of the Bundestag after a defense committee meeting that Leopard 2 tanks could be delivered to Ukraine in about three months.
