Ukraine is interested in cooperation with Oman in many areas, in particular, in ensuring food security.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Senik said this during a video conferencing meeting with Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al-Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Diplomatic Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Foreign Ministry's press service
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation between Ukraine and Oman, focusing on steps to increase trade and promote tourism, in particular by establishing direct flights and liberalizing the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens.
"Ukraine is interested in strengthening partnership with the Gulf countries and is ready to intensify cooperation with Oman in many areas, in particular in ensuring the food security of the Sultanate," Senik said.
The deputy ministers separately discussed the schedule of high-level political contacts, exchanged views on interaction between Ukraine and Oman within the framework of international organizations.
The ministry reminded that trade between Ukraine and Oman for five months of 2021 increased by 42.6% and amounted to USD 75.46 million, of which Ukraine's exports totaled USD 73.39 million.
