The Apprentice recap: Over-confident Dean’s time was up but Lottie is on very thin ice, Sian Gabbidon says.

This week was a really good episode. I loved this task and wish I could have been in it to do it.

The two teams were tasked with creating their own signature scent and design and brand a unique bottle before attempting to secure sales from two major retailers – it was challenging but ace.

Carina’s team was strong

I loved the idea Carina’s team came up with, I saw where they were going with it and I like the name. Scarlett also did a great job on the bottle.

With the photoshoot, I get the comments about it being a bit dated but I think I overall the concept was strong.

Poor Pamela – Lewis really let her down

I felt sorry for Pamela. I can imagine how disheartened she felt when she saw that box and saw how detached it was.

I thought the pictures they took were amazing and had they got the design of the bottle right, they could have potentially won it.

The bottle and the packaging were really bad. I was surprised they got any orders.

I can imagine how frustrating it must have been for Pamela. Lewis had been strong throughout and he is a marketing guy so to put him on marketing made sense. As a marketing person you should really be able to brand and design a mixture of things.

Lewis has had a really good run and this is first error he has made - but this was a massive mistake. Every bit of it wasn’t right.

Dean had reached the end

I have to say it was right for Dean to go and I am fully behind why Lord Sugar picked him.

Pamela has been strong, Lewis has been too but Dean has been floating. Even when he has been PM it has always just been mediocre – they have won but not because of something he has done.

It was the right time for him to go. It is good to be confident but not when you haven’t done anything to warrant it. I think sometimes his comments made me think ‘why are you being so confident’.

Lottie’s luck will run out

She has been very outspoken throughout. Fair play she got herself to the final five, but if Lottie had been on the losing team more often her time would have run out. She has rubbed people up the wrong way the whole series.

To some extent she has just got lucky. She has been bold but she has very obviously been found quite hard to work with and when it comes down to it Lord Sugar wants to work with someone he can get on with and I don’t know if she will be right one for him.

I am looking forward to see how she reacts to being drilled by the interviewers next week.
