Ukrainian army eliminates more than 100 Russian soldiers and their equipment in Melitopol.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the dislocation points of Russian troops in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region. More than 100 enemy soldiers were eliminated.
"At night, high-precision HIMARS missiles were fired on temporary dislocation points of occupation troops at industrial sites in various districts of Melitopol city," Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov posted on Telegram.
According to preliminary estimates, a significant amount of military equipment was destroyed. More than 100 Russian soldiers stayed in temporary barracks.
Fedorov added that the occupiers had redeployed a significant part of air defense systems from Melitopol to Kherson last week.
"This night is the most productive and shows that the existing enemy air defense units are no longer capable of resisting HIMARS," the mayor added.
The weakened air defense system creates the necessary prerequisites for a successful counteroffensive in Melitopol direction.
