Pompeo makes statement on killing of Ukrainian medic in Donbas.

U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo has made a statement in which he mentioned the killing of a Ukrainian military medic in Donbas by Russian occupiers and condemned Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

He stated this at a special briefing on international issues at the U.S. Department of State on Wednesday, July 15, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I want to express the United States deep sadness at the reported killing yesterday of a Ukrainian military medic," Pompeo said.

He said that the American people join the people of Ukraine in condemning "the ongoing brutal aggression of Russian-led forces in Donbas."

Pompeo also said that the United States "pays tribute to Ukrainians killed and wounded fighting for their democracy."
