Jesus Christ revelation: Major biblical breakthrough as ancient miracle mosaic discovered.

The mosaic in question may depict Jesus “feeding of the 5,000” the famous instance of Jesus feeding 5,000 people with just five loaves and two fish. The mosaic, found among the remains of a burnt out church, was located in Israel as with many recent and historic findings of artefacts associated with early Christianity.

A group of researchers who found the piece explained that the mosaic, which features inscriptions and depictions of baskets containing loaves and fishes, was unearthed at the “burnt church” at Hippos in northern Israel.

The church, overlooking the Sea of Galilee, was thought to have been built at some point in the late fifth or early sixth century A.D.

Researchers think the church was likely burnt down during the Sassanian Empire’s conquest of the region in the seventh century A.D.

The University of Haifa, that was involved in the excavation of the mosaic piece, said in a statement: “The fire caused the church mosaic floor to be conserved in an amazing way, since the roof was burnt down and collapsed on the floor of the church and covered it in a layer of ash, thus protecting it from being damaged over time.

“Now, as the researchers have returned to expose it, they have found a magnificent mosaic, which was excellently preserved.”

Birds, fish and fruit all feature in the mosaic, which is though to depict the miracle described in Matthew 14:13-21.

The passage from the New Testament reads: “Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he [Jesus] gave thanks and broke the loaves.

“Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people.

“They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

“The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.”

Experts and researchers feel that there are striking similarities in the mosaic artefact and story in the bible, which has led them to link the two together.

Michael Eisenberg, head of the Excavation team said: “There can certainly be different explanations to the descriptions of loaves and fish in the mosaic, but you cannot ignore the similarity to the description in the New Testament.

“For example, from the fact that the New Testament has a description of five loaves in a basket or the two fish depicted in the apse of the church, as we find in the mosaic.”

Despite the excitement, Mr Eisenberg notes the differences between the mosaic and the story.

In some of the depictions on the mosaic, for example, baskets contain fruit, and in some places there are three as opposed to two fishes.

More recently, a small group of archaeologists claim to have discovered the site where Jesus Christ allegedly performed a miracle by healing a blind man.

Working on a site on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, a huge freshwater lake in Israel, the researchers say they have discovered the ruins of the historic settlement of Bethsaida.

The site, which is mentioned in the New Testament, is known by Christians worldwide as the place that Jesus, according to the Bible, healed a man that was born blind.

Christian Today says the excavations started in 2016 under the supervision of Professor Mordechai Aviam from the Kinneret College.

The two probes dug by the team below the Byzantine floors yielded Roman pottery and a considerable number of coins.

The team did manage to find a layer of silt they later traced to the Jordan River.

The researchers now aim to learn more about Bethsaida in order to expand their knowledge about the settlement’s place in the Bible.

No further news has been released from the group of researchers about the Bethsaida site.
