Government allocates 175 M to strengthen protection of Ukrainian border.

The Government allocates UAH 175 million to strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian border due to the aggravated operational situation on Ukraine–Belarus section of the state border.

"Being aware of the difficult situation on Belarus–Poland border, we continue to strengthen our borders. It cannot be ruled out that the migrant destabilization project may reach Ukraine–Belarus border. We have to be ready for any scenario, so we allocate UAH 175 million to strengthen security measures on the Ukrainian border," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said at the Cabinet’s meeting on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He condemned the current situation. "In our opinion, the use of migrants as a mechanism of hybrid aggression is the height of audacity and inhumanity. There should be no place for such a practice in the civilized world," the Head of Government stressed.

As a reminder, the Cabinet of Ministers at its regular meeting on Wednesday planned to consider a draft document on the allocation of money from the reserve fund of the state budget to implement priority (urgent) measures to eliminate the consequences of social emergency related to the aggravated operational situation on Ukraine–Belarus section of the state border.

According to the explanatory note to the relevant draft order of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Border Guard Service reports on the aggravated situation on Ukraine–Belarus section of the state border in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions and expects that foreigners may resort to unlawful action.
