Ukraine’s Finance Ministry admits stops of cooperation with IMF.

Ukraine may stop cooperation with the International Monetary Fund after the fulfillment of new three-year program, which is currently discussed as Finance Minister of Ukraine Oksana Markarova reported on Facebook.

“The IMF program, upon which we have already reached the agreements at the management level, is obligatory for three years. But after its complete fulfillment, we may leave the IMF,” the message said.

She also noted the importance of the program, which is not decided by the Council of Directors.

Earlier, Ukraine and the International Monetary Fund discussed the terms of approval of a new cooperation program.

As we reported, the EU can provide a tranche of 500 million euros to Ukraine as early as February 2020.

Earlier, Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Ukraine Gosta Ljungman stated that money transfers to Ukraine from labor migrants, record harvests, as well as increased demand for national bonds could be the main reasons for strengthening of the hryvnia.
