Only fifth of respondents think Ukraine will be able to cope with COVID-19 on its own.

Only a fifth of respondents believe that Ukraine will be able to cope with the coronavirus epidemic without the help of other countries, according to Olha Balakirieva, head of the Social Monitoring Center.

She said this while presenting the results of monitoring public opinion of the population of Ukraine, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Only a fifth of the adult population answered affirmatively that Ukraine is able to cope with the epidemic without the help of other countries. Two-thirds (62.3%) believe that Ukraine will not be able to cope with the epidemic on its own and 17% refused to answer," Balakirieva said.

All-Ukrainian opinion polls of the adult population were conducted in June, July, August, September and November 2020. The last survey was conducted from November 18 to 26, 2020 in 24 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv. As many as 3,020 respondents were interviewed.

A total of 9,946 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Ukraine as of November 30. In total, 732,625 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Ukraine over the entire period of the pandemic.
