MH17 case: Four Ukrainian prosecutors join investigation team.

The Ukrainian side of the joint investigation team, which is inquiring into the MH17 crash, is represented by four representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor General. This was reported on the website of the President's Office.

Thus, the Office responded to reports on the dismissal of all six Ukrainian prosecutors involved in the investigation, which were made by the Dutch media.

"Due to the dissemination of information regarding the investigation into the crash of the MH17 flight of Malaysian Airlines, we are announcing the participation of the Ukrainian side. Currently, four representatives of the Office of the Prosecutor general have been involved in the work of an international investigation team," the statement said.

At the national level, procedural guidance is carried out by nine staff members of the Office of the Prosecutor General, namely the Criminal Procedure Oversight Department for crimes committed in the context of armed conflict.

As we reported earlier, Boeing 777 of Malaysian Airlines, flight number MH17, was destroyed while performing a regular flight from the Netherlands to Malaysia in July 2014.

The tragedy took place in the sky over the militant-held section of the Donetsk region. All 298 people aboard deceased; most of the victims, 196, were Dutch, but there were citizens of another nine countries as well.

The governments of Australia and the Netherlands officially accused Russia of being involved in the disaster.
