Russia's hybrid military forces on January 17 mounted eight attacks on Ukrainian Army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.

"On January 17, armed formations of the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire eight times. The enemy used 120mm and 82mm mortars, which are banned under the Minsk peace agreements, as well as grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns, and other small arms," the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Headquarters said on Facebook in a morning update as of 07:00 Kyiv time on January 18.

Five of the attacks were reported in the Skhid [East] tactical grouping responsibility zone: near the town of Krasnohorivka (a tripod-mounted man-portable antitank gun), outside the village of Shyrokyne (grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms), not far from the village of Pavlopil (two attacks, using an 82mm mortar, grenade launchers of various systems, small arms, and heavy machine guns), and near the village of Vasylivka (small arms).

Three attacks were recorded in the Pivnich (North) sector: near the village of Orikhove (twice, using 120mm mortar and grenade launchers of various systems), and outside the village of Luhanske (a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher and small arms).

There were no Ukrainian army casualties in the past day.

"Since Saturday midnight, Russia-led forces have attacked Ukrainian positions near the village of Pisky, using small arms. One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in action," the update said.
