THE annual Remembrance Day Parade honours those who lost their lives in the two World Wars in the service of their country as well as those who have died in other conflicts.

But when is it and where are the memorial services taking place?

When is the Remembrance Day parade?

Remembrance Sunday is always held on the second Sunday in November every year.

In 2019 it falls on November 10.

A National Service of Remembrance is held at The Cenotaph in Whitehall in London.

Members of the Royal Family and the government attend the service alongside representatives from the Armed Forces and the public.

Armistice Day is always held on November 11, and marks the end of the First World War.

The day remembers the agreement between the Allies and Germany on November 11, 1918, to stop fighting which marked victory for the Allies and defeat for Germany.

It was signed in Compiegne in Northern France and came into effect at 11am.

Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day can fall on the same day.

What time does it start?

London's Remembrance Day parade will take place on Sunday, November 10.

The procession will start at 11am at the Cenotaph on Whitehall.

This event is annually attended by the Queen as well as politicians and military representatives.

A two minute silence is always held at 11am.

The silence is meant to be a time for people to remember those who lost their lives fighting for their country.

Where are the memorial services taking place?

The main service will be taking place at the Cenotaph on Whitehall - this will be attended by members of the royal family as well as politicians.

Another Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving will be held at Westminster Abbey at 10.30am.

Members of the Armed Forces will be in attendance, with a limited number of tickets available to members of the public on the day.

The service will include a two-minute silence at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire is holding a service at the base of the Armed Forces Memorial.

The Remembrance Centre will be open from 8am with the service beginning at 10.40am.

The RBL Scotland's procession begins at 10am with military detachments forming at Edinburgh Castle.

They will march to the Stone of Remembrance at 10.30am, before a memorial service takes place at St Giles' Cathedral.

Belfast City Hall is holding a one-hour service beginning at 11.00am.

Birmingham's Remembrance service will be held on Colmore Row near Cathedral Square. The parade will march from Temple Row at 10.30am.

Liverpool's commemoration service will be led by the Lord Mayor at the Cenotaph on St George's Hall Plateau.

Southampton's service will begin at 10.55am and will be preceded by a parade from Guildhall Square to the Cenotaph.
