OSCE records over 270 ceasefire violations in eastern Ukraine on Dec 1.

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine has recorded 265 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and six ceasefire violations in Luhansk region over the past 24 hours, according to daily report No. 282/2021 issued by the SMM on December 1.

"In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 265 ceasefire violations, including 22 undetermined explosions," the report said.

The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in an area west of Hranitne (government-controlled, 60km south of Donetsk), in areas east of Maiorsk (government-controlled, 45km north-east of Donetsk) and in an area north of Starohnativka (government-controlled, 51km south of Donetsk).

The ceasefire violations heard near Hranitne and Starohnativka were assessed as live-fire training exercises, in violation of the decision of the Trilateral Contact Group of 3 March 2016 that prohibits the conduct of live-fire training in the security zone.

In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 139 ceasefire violations in the region.

"In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded six projectiles," the SMM said.

All ceasefire violations were recorded in areas west-south-west of the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk).

In the previous reporting period, the Mission recorded 163 ceasefire violations in the region.
