Desiree was reportedly taken from Cook County Jail to Stroger Hospital in Chicago where she had her baby, according to Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

She and her mom, Clarisa Figueroa, 46, are charged with slaughtering Marlen Ochoa-Lopez, 19, while Desiree's boyfriend, Piotr Bobak, 40, is accused of trying to cover it up.

Clarisa apparently contacted Ochoa-Lopez, who also has a three-year-old son, via a Facebook group, luring the pregnant woman to their home under the pretence of giving her baby clothes.

After allegedly strangling Ochoa-Lopez, the Figueroas apparently ripped out the teen's unborn child when she was nine months pregnant.

A doctor raised the alarm hours after the horrific slaying when Desiree called 911 and tried to pass off the brain-damaged newborn as her own at a hospital, showing no signs of having given birth.

Abc 7 Chicago reports that Ochoa-Lopez was missing for about three weeks before authorities found her body dumped in a garbage can by the Figueroa's home.

Her little baby, Yovanny Lopez, lived for a month before dying in June from complications, which the Cook County medical examiner's office attributed to "maternal assault and demise."

The alleged womb-raiders have pleaded not guilty to a 27-count indictment and remain in custody after being denied bond in the wake of the heinous crime.

It is not clear whether Desiree's biological child is in state custody while she languishes in jail; The Sun Online has reached out to The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services for comment.

Local reports indicate that Clarisa lost her 20-year-old son Xander who died in 2018 of natural causes.

She announced that she was pregnant in December 2018 and reportedly posted an ultrasound photo of her 'baby' on social media.

Abc 7 Chicago said Clarisa posted: "Who is due in May? Where is the May mamas at?" on the 'Help a Mother Out' Facebook page and initiated a conversation with Ochoa-Lopez.

Clarisa allegedly told Desiree that she may need help killing a pregnant woman and stealing her baby on April 1, during Ochoa-Lopez's first visit to their home.

Although Desiree and Bobak refused - and he threatened to call the police - she later told her boyfriend that her mother had just been attempting an April Fool's joke.

But on Ochoa-Lopez's next visit, the Figueroas strangled her with a cable whilst showing her pictures of Clarisa's dead son Xander.

All three allegedly went to great lengths to conceal the crime, cleaning Clarisa's home and moving Ochoa-Lopez's car.

Meanwhile, residents of the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago marked what would have been Ochoa-Lopez's 20th birthday with a balloon release in front of a mural dedicated to her last Saturday

"She left a footprint in this community," said Emma Lozano, pastor of Lincoln United Methodist Church told abc 7 Chicago. "We wanted to honor her memory and we wanted to honor that unity, and also her family."

The teenager's family have reportedly asked the local community to pay close attention to the case in order to bring Ochoa-Lopez's murderers to justice.
