Zelensky stresses need to draw up plan for implementation of Great Construction projects for 2021.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has emphasized the need to prepare a clear plan for the implementation of the Great Construction facilities for the next year.

“President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed the need to prepare a clear list and plan for the implementation of facilities that will expand the Great Construction program next year - in particular, theaters, museums, and so on, for the responsible ministries and regional state administrations to plan the allocation of funds for that,” the President’s Office reports.

"I think that by September 1, there will be enough time for this," the President said at a meeting with members of the Cabinet of Ministers on Monday evening.

The deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and head of the Coordination Council for the Implementation of the Great Construction Program, Kyrylo Tymoshenko, said that the construction of national roads was carried out according to the schedule. Many repaired highways are expected to open in the coming months.

As for local roads, there were some problems with the use of allocated funds. Thus, as of May 1, regional state administrations received more than UAH 6 billion for local roads, and used only UAH 1.9 billion, i.e. 30%. "But as of July 1, the regional state administrations received UAH 10 billion and have already used UAH 5.52 billion - this is 55%. In fact, we have sped up and will continue to do this,” Tymoshenko noted.

For his part, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reminded that 174,000 people had been employed through employment centers over the past two months due to the Great Construction program, road construction and other measures.
