Kuleba tells NATO Allies of Russia's military buildup near Ukraine borders.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba on Wednesday, December 1, took part in the meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of the NATO foreign ministers, together with his Georgian counterpart.

That’s according to MFA Ukraine’s press service, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that the foreign minister informed NATO Allies in detail about the latest aggravation of the security situation in eastern Ukraine by Russia, the buildup of Russian forces along the border with Ukraine, the threat of another Russian invasion, and an increased level of Russian disinformation spins.

Kuleba refuted Russian fake narratives of Ukraine allegedly plotting an offensive operation in Donbas and reaffirmed Kyiv's commitment to an exclusively political-diplomatic settlement of the Russo-Ukrainian armed conflict, readiness to continue working within the Trilateral Contact Group and the Normandy format.

The top diplomat stressed that the joint efforts of Ukraine and NATO Allies will help prevent Russia from going for further aggressive action, and suggested that the Allies take a number of concrete steps, including strengthening sanctions and helping Ukraine further develop its defense capabilities.

Ukraine is actively working with partners to implement a comprehensive containment package consisting of political, economic, and security measures. It aims to discourage Russia from resorting to the worst-case scenario, according to Kuleba.

By demonstrating force now, the need to prove it later is being avoided, the foreign minister believes.

He thanked the Allies for their support of Ukraine and their readiness to help strengthen the country’s security, and stressed that reinforcing Ukraine and NATO's eastern flank would be mutually beneficial.

The Foreign Ministry’s report noted that the Allies expressed strong support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba is taking part in a NATO foreign ministerial in Riga at the invitation of Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
