G7 ambassadors, Ukrainian ministers discuss plans for tackling climate change.

Ambassadors of the G7 countries and Ukraine’s Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Roman Abramovsky, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna have discussed Ukraine’s plans for combating climate change.

“G7 Ambassadors were pleased to discuss Ukraine’s plans for tackling climate change with Abramovsky and Stefanishyna. Ambassadors encouraged Ukraine to submit an ambitious 2nd Nationally Determined Contribution for COP26 by the end of July,” UK Presidency of the G7 Ambassadors’ Support Group for Ukraine posted on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

In addition, ambassadors welcomed Ukraine’s statements of commitment to transition away from coal and move towards net-zero.

“A cross-government approach is essential to deliver reforms, create the conditions for investment, and incentivize clean energy in order to meet Ukraine’s goals,” reads the report.

As Ukrinform reported, Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Roman Abramovsky told the session "Business Environment and Investment Climate" in Vilnius that the Ministry of Environmental Protection is planning to attract investors to waste recycling projects.
