COVAX: Ukraine to receive 1.776M doses of AstraZeneca vaccine during first round of allocations

The COVAX initiative for equitable global access to COVID-19 vaccines has published a list of the first round of allocations of coronavirus vaccine.

According to a repot posted on the website of UNICEF, Ukraine will be provided with 1,776,000 doses of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, including the vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India.

The list also includes 117,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, the supply of which to Ukraine has been previously reported.

It is noted that the list will be updated by the end of the week “to provide indicative timelines for the supply of these doses, split into Feb-March and April-May”.

COVAX is the global initiative that is working with governments and manufacturers to ensure COVID-19 vaccines are available worldwide to both higher-income and lower-income countries. Deliveries for the first round of allocations has already begun, with India, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire receiving the vaccine.
