Libya interested in sunflower oil supplies from Ukraine - State Service for Food Safety.

Vladyslava Mahaletska, the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, and Adel Benissa, Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Libya in Ukraine, have discussed the expansion of cooperation and increase in trade between Libya and Ukraine.

Adel Benissa said that Libya is interested in the export of sunflower oil from Ukraine to Libya, Ukrinform reports with reference to the press service of the State Service for Food Safety.

The parties discussed also the possibility of exporting grain, fruit and berry products of Ukrainian producers to Libya. Vladyslava Mahaletska stressed that the State Food and Consumer Service fully supports the expansion of the list of goods in bilateral trade.

"We receive relevant requests from Ukrainian manufacturers. I am sure that the cooperation between Libya and Ukraine has great potential," she said.

Earlier, both countries agreed on forms of international veterinary certificates for exports of cattle, poultry and poultry products from Ukraine to Libya. In addition, the parties are holding talks on a veterinary certificate for the export of milk and dairy products.

As Ukrinform reported, the new rules of exports and imports between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will be in force from April 13, 2021, after the expiration of the Agreement on Cooperation in Veterinary Medicine, signed within the CIS in 1993.
