The National Commission for Communications Regulation (NCCR) has proposed that subscribers of mobile communications operators are obliged to provide their personal data, NCCR Head Oleksandr Zhyvotovsky has said.
“We believe that the situation when 80-90% of mobile communications service users are anonymous is unacceptable. First, services for anonymous users are limited. They cannot use Mobile ID and many electronic services being introduced by the state,” he said at a briefing on August 11.
He said that the commission also amended the bill drawn up by the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection. They concern the relaxation of the registration rules.
“At the recent meeting of the commission we approved amendments to the registration rules. Each of us can enter the electronic cabinet of a mobile operator and register there. One should not go the operator’s office. We are trying to make the process easy for users,” he said.
