MANCHESTER UNITED'S striker crisis has deepened - with Marcus Rashford limping off in the second half against West Ham this afternoon.
The Red Devils are already without Anthony Martial who is suffering with a thigh injury - and look set to be without Rashford as well for the foreseeable future.
the United number ten limped off at the London Stadium with an apparent groin injury - which will put further scrutiny on the Red Devils' decision not to replace either Romelu Lukaku or Alexis Sanchez in the summer.
Both forwards departed for Inter Milan in August - while United reportedly failed with a last-ditch attempt to sign Mario Mandzukic from Juventus.
17-year-old wonderkid Mason Greenwood impressed against Astana on Thursday night - scoring the winning goal as United triumphed 1-0 in the Europa League.
But the highly-rated youngster is currently ruled out with tonsillitis.
While both have now returned to fitness - attackers Daniel James and Jesse Lingard have had fitness concerns of their own in recent weeks.
James missed Thursday night's match with a knock picked up in training, while Lingard had to pull out of Gareth Southgate's recent England squad with illness.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have endured a topsy-turvy start to the season - with any gloss from wins over Chelsea and Leicester somewhat spoiled by poor results against Crystal Palace and Southampton.

The Norwegian could now be without a recognised senior striker for upcoming Premier League matches against Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool - as well as cup assignments against Rochdale and Alkmaar.
And the United boss will be under pressure to deliver results despite his lack of strikers - particularly after today's dreadful 2-0 defeat at West Ham.
Rashford could also be in doubt for England's Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Montenegro in October. The United striker was dropped for the recent 5-3 victory over Kosovo - with Southgate opting to start Jadon Sancho alongside Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane for the Three Lions.
