Nova Kakhovka dam attack will not stop Ukrainian counter-offensive - Danilov.

The blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant by Russian forces will not hamper the long-awaited Ukrainian counter-offensive, so all of the temporarily occupied territories, including Crimea, will be liberated.

Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, said this on Ukrainian television, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Nothing will stop us. All Ukrainian land, including the territory of Crimea, will be liberated from terrorists. In this way, they will not be able to stop our Armed Forces. Not only our Armed Forces, but also our people. And in the near future, we will do everything we can to make it happen," Danilov said.

He noted that the decision to blow up the Nova Kakhovka dam had been made in Moscow.

"The Russians do not have the ability to seize us militarily. They know - and it is no secret - our Armed Forces may begin a counter-offensive in the near future. And in order to prevent a counter-offensive in this area, they committed such a terrorist act. In addition, it is also an act of ecocide," Danilov said.

In the early hours of June 6, Russian troops blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. Ukraine's state hydroelectric company said the plant had been totally destroyed and could not be restored after a detonation inside the engine room. The destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam put energy facilities in the Kherson region, including the Kherson thermal power plant, at risk of flooding. Work is underway to evacuate people from flooded towns and villages.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated during his visit to Tallinn that Ukraine must win the war, while the definition of victory depends only on Ukraine, so this cannot be the basis of Germany's national defense strategy.
